On Leadership in Duncanville (A Continuing Series)

“In the end, it is important to remember that we cannot become what we need to be, by remaining what we are.”
―     Max DePree,

What we are right now is a City divided by the last two years of relentless focus on litigation. City services have been affected by a historic employee turnover in key positions. Our reputation among the Best Southwest cities as well as the DFW area is tarnished because of our inability to be trusted as reliable partner and our inability to build and value relationships. Where we are right now is a City divided by design, unwilling to change, gridlocked.

Here is what I think we need to be:
A City able to provide quality municipal services to all its citizens, responding in the most appropriate and fiscally responsible manner to citizen needs and concerns with the active participation of all the citizens. A City of Champions.

Here’s the bad news……
We cannot become what we can and should be by remaining what we are.

Here’s the question:
DUNCANVILLE VOTER….are you happy with where we are? Can we do better?

It’s up to you.

Think about it.

  1. Patrick, I am enjoying your posts. I agree we need new blood in the District 2 and Mayor positions. I sure hope Mark makes it for Mayor I would hate to loose him on the council. I think somebody in district 4 will need some help or we will end up with Dotson. WE had it bad enough with Hodges trying to get even with Duncanville for Costco just think what we would/will go through if Dotson gets in.  Charles
